All appointment arrival times are approximate within a 2 hour window, to account for drive time and the unexpected nature of working with animals. For example if your appointment is set at 12:00 we will arrive between 11:00-1:00. We will keep open communication for if we are behind. Feel free to reach out with concerns or time constraints and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Peace Paws is now requiring all our clients to be on a 2, 4, 6, or 8 week grooming schedule. Availability will depend on your area . This schedule will be made for 3 months at a time and then sent our to our clients on the 1st of every quarter starting December 2021. We will do our absolute best to accommodate everyone’s busy schedules and vacations and to make adjustments. But please understand that sometimes accommodations can not be made and if an appointment is missed , it might mean your pet will have to wait to the following appointment. We are needing to do this to make sure we have enough time to fluff and love all of our amazing furry friends.
I understand that my pet(s) have medical condition(s) and/or is/are senior(s). I am aware that grooming can cause stress that can exaggerate or expose new problems, or even lead to a serious medical event. I understand there are mental and behavioral changes in senior dogs or dogs with medical conditions, and they are typically groomed for comfort. If Peace Paws feels that grooming will be too stressful for my pet, the groom will be stopped immediately, and I will be contacted.
Pets with severely matted coats require extra attention. Peace Paws will not cause serious or undue stress to pets by de-matting. Matting can be difficult to remove and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, and/or revealing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After-effects of matting removal can include itchiness, redness, irritations or abrasions. We promise to keep your pet as safe and comfortable as possible. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Matted pets are subjected to an extra charge for pre-shaving the matted hair as the time taken to groom almost doubles.
FLEAS, TICKS, AND LICE
If your pet has fleas, ticks, or lice they will be given a bath at an additional expense depending on the size of pet to cover supplies and possible rescheduling of other pups to make sure there is no transfer of bugs.
We will send out appointment reminders two days before the appointment. If you are going to miss your appointment for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible. We require at least a 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules to allow time to fill the space from our waiting list. Appointments cancelled in less than 24 hours will incur 50% of service fee. No shows will be charged the entirety of the service fee.
We employ extensive safety and sanitary precautions to ensure your pets safety and health. Despite reasonable and prudent efforts, some pets may experience side effects of the grooming process, including but not limited to: skin irritation, exposure of the quick, reactions to flea treatments and de-shedding treatments, hair splinters, and sharp nails (after clipping). Should an accident occur that needs medical attention, it is agreed that all expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pet's owner UNLESS Peace Paws Mobile Pet Spa assumes responsibility. We Love your pets as much as you do and will take extra special care. We are also licensed and insured and will always work with you if an accident occurs.
As winter is approaching we are preparing for the snow. Out vehicle is all wheel drive and very heavy and pretty decent in the snow but we do expect one or two unexpected snow days, (Evergreen clients we are looking at you :) . In the event of a snow day we will reach out as soon as possible and all appointments will be pushed back a week. This Keeps the schedule functioning and fair to all of our amazing clients.
