Dynamite grooming/Royal K9/Grooming by Riley employs extensive safety and sanitary precautions to ensure your pets safety and health. Despite reasonable and prudent efforts, some pets may experience common side effects of the grooming process, including but not limited to: clipper burn, exposure of the quick, reactions to flea treatments and de-shedding dip treatments, hair splinters, and sharp nails (after clipping). By signing this agreement, you (the client) agree to relieve Dynamite grooming, and it's agents from any and all liabilities, and/or costs associated with any veterinary care, symptoms or discomfort of your pet related to or presenting after services rendered by Dynamite grooming. The pursuit of any veterinary, behavioral, or rehabilitational services, and the payment there of, is the sole responsibility of the pet owner. Additionally, you agree to relieve Dynamite grooming and its agents from any and all liability associated with damages to person, pet, or property by or relating to services rendered or service equipment used by Dynamite grooming and it's agents.
Dynamite Grooming has a late Cancellation/No Show policy. To cancel, a minimum of 24 hours notice must be given prior to appointment. If you are cancelling less than 24 hours prior to an appointment, a 50% of groom fee per pet will be required. If you are 15 minutes late for your appointment, a late fee will apply and it will be up to the discretion of Dynamite Grooming (based on volume of clients for that day) to either continue with the appointment or re-schedule a new date and time. Missed / no show appointments are a huge loss to our business, there will be a 50% of groom fee charged per pet for the first missed appointment, full groom fee charged per pet for the second missed appointment and we will require payment if full prior to booking you in again if you missed a third appointment. Each missed appointment will be noted on your profile.
We do our best to respond to all messages as soon as possible, however messages received on days that we are closed, will be returned the following business day. Messages received during regular business hours will be returned within 24 hours.
Drop off / Pick up
Dogs must be on leash and cats must be in cat carrier during drop off and pick up. Cat appointments need to be on time as we only schedule specific times for them to avoid overlaps with dogs. When possible, you should make sure your pet uses the washroom prior to drop off as the groom appointment sometimes takes several hours to complete. When on premises, please pick up after your pet, if you don't have a baggie, please ask. Drop off time of pet is 15 minutes prior to appointment time. Pick up is up to 45 minutes from notification of completion of pet grooming unless you have made other arrangements with us. If pet is not picked up within an hour of being notified of completion, a boarding fee may be applied. All appointment duration times are approximate. We do our best to groom your pets in a timely manner however there may be some unforeseen circumstances that may cause a delay. Please do not come to pickup your pet until notified as pets tend to get excited when they see their owners and we need your pet to stay relatively still while being clipped, trimmed with scissors or getting their nails cut.
At Dynamite Grooming, we do our best to provide a safe and stress free place for our clients and staff but we do reserve the right to refuse any pet that is under too much stress, ill, or behaviourally not able to handle the grooming process. In some extreme circumstances, we may suggest you contact your vet to discuss the possibility of a sedative to help calm your pet during the grooming appointment. If we are unable complete the groom due to the pet being too stressed or aggressive, there will be a charge of 50% of the groom fee per pet and a note will go on your pets profile to indicate what was or was not able to be completed. Please let us know if your pet has any medical conditions or a history of aggression prior to appointment so we are better prepared to safely handle them.
Thankfully, accidents are rare, but there is always the possibility of cuts, nicks or burns during the grooming process as some pets are harder to groom than others. If an accident does occur, we will contact you to discuss and advise you on how to treat.
We will not de-matt pets that are severely matted or otherwise can not handle the de-matting process. We reserve the right to shave dogs (with owner consent first) if they are too matted and the process will cause extreme discomfort to the pet. If you would like to keep your dog in a longer style, we will require a more frequent visit (4-6 weeks) or additional de-matting fees may be required. We understand you may want a longer style, but sometimes it is not feasible or comfortable for your pet.
Health and Grooming
We are not vets but if we come across something that looks suspicious during the groom, we may recommend you take your pet to a vet for further investigation. If any fleas, ticks or lice are discovered on your pet during the groom, the service will be stopped and you will be required to come and pick up your pet immediately. You may be charged additional fees for cleaning and sterilizing of the shop.
We will always refuse to shave double coated dogs. We offer a bath, trim and de-shedding service that we urge you to try instead of shaving your dog. Double coated pets that are shaved have difficulty growing their coats back, grow patchy, cause skin irritation and may cause other conditions such as post clip alopecia. Double coats are not just for protection from the cold, they also help protect your pet from heat.
You must park either in my driveway or on my side of the street. Parking on the opposite side of the road is prohibited by local parking enforcement and could lead to parking tickets and/or towing.
If you are unsatisfied with the groom, please let us know before you leave the shop so the groomer can make any necessary corrections and we can take notes for the next groom.
Payment for services rendered is due upon completion of appointment. Please check with your groomer to see what types of payments are accepted.
All prices are approximate. Additional handling fees may apply based on difficulty of groom, size of pet and coat condition.
