General Liability Waiver
Bark Club employs extensive safety and sanitary precautions to ensure your pets safety and health. Despite reasonable and prudent efforts, some pets may experience common side effects of the grooming process, including but not limited to: clipper burn, exposure of the quick, reactions to shampoo and coat treatments, hair splinters, and sharp nails (after clipping). If the pet does not respond to the groomer and remain still during the grooming procedure, accidents such as nicks from clippers, scissors, or nail clippers may occur. If it is deemed necessary for the safety of the pet and/or groomer muzzles, collars, slings, or straps may be humanely used and are acceptable. It is recommended that pets be alone with the groomer to prevent distraction or stress that may lead to such accidents. By signing this agreement, you (the client) agree to relieve Bark Club, and it's agents from any and all liabilities, and/or costs associated with any veterinary care, symptoms or discomfort of your pet related to or presenting after services rendered by Bark Club. The pursuit of any veterinary, behavioral, or rehabilitation services, and the payment there of, is the sole responsibility of the pet owner. Additionally, you agree to relieve Bark Club and its agents from any and all liability associated with damages to person, pet, or property by or relating to services rendered or service equipment used by Bark Club and it's agents.
Flea Infestation/Salon Sanitation
If fleas are found on your pet the groomer will administer a flea bath to eradicate the fleas in order to maintain salon sanitation. Our flea shampoo is gentle, hypoallergenic, and safe for puppies and kittens four weeks and older. Because of the prolific nature of fleas, if a large infestation is found on your pet you may be charged a sanitation fee of $50.00 in addition to regular grooming costs. The additional fee will only be charged in the event that it becomes necessary to close the salon for the health and safety of other pets/clients. Salon closures will occur at the groomers discretion based on the severity of flea infestation.
Matted or Neglected Coats
Matted hair coats are not only UNCOMFORTABLE, but DANGEROUS to your pet's health. Excessive matting pulls on the skin and traps moisture against the skin which can result in bacterial infections (hot spots). The groomer will de-mat your pet's coat when possible. If brushing out the mats will cause prolonged or severe pain to your pet, the groomer will refuse and offer alternative options. In severe cases your pet may require a "shave down". Animal welfare is our first priority and will always be placed above owner preference for appearance. By signing this document you acknowledge that the groomer may use their discretion when handling neglected/matted coats and cut the hair as needed for the health and well being of the animal. We will attempt to contact you before shaving your pet; however in the event that contact cannot be made, you agree to allow the groomer to provide the cut necessary for your pet's health and wellbeing.
Late or "No Show"
If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment time you must notify the groomer as early as you are able. 24 hours notice is preferable, although we do understand that unforeseen circumstances do happen. You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you arrive 15 minutes or later after the scheduled time. Appointments are made on a tight schedule and late arrivals can interfere with other clients appointments. A No Show penalty of $20.00 will be applied at the groomers discretion for missed appointments without notice. Any future appointments scheduled after 3 No Show's will require payment at time of booking.
Refusal of Service/Aggressive Pets
Bark Club has the right to refuse service to any client at any time and for any reason. We reserve the right to cease or alter any grooming service in the best interest of your pet's safety, or in the presence of aggressive behavior. Bites to the groomer requiring medical attention will be reported to the authorities as required by law.
Older Pets/Health Concerns
Extra care and patience will given when working with senior pets and those with medical concerns. It is the owner's responsibility to notify the groomer of these concerns, such as breathing difficulty or seizures, before any grooming begins. Bark Club is not responsible for any reaction due to mental/physical stress of grooming your pet. The groomer has the right to alter or terminate any grooming procedure they feel may exacerbate a pre-existing condition or cause undue stress to your pet. Any grooming provided to senior pets or those with serious health conditions is done at the owners risk.
By signing this agreement you are stating that you have read and agree to the terms and responsibilities for the grooming/maintenance of your pet, and to the consideration of the grooming services provided by Bark Club.
